What an incredible fizz-popping, whizz-banger of a Roald Dahl Week!  Monday’s assembly set the scene for what has definitely been a most enjoyable five days!

All of Tuesday’s SMART day activities (creating Dream Jars, baking up Revolting Recipes, singing songs inspired by Roald Dahl books, wonderful choreographed dancing by many oompa loompas and budding Sir Quentin Blakes, illustrating the most amazing inspired book characters) have allowed for a fun and vibrant week’s learning.

Wednesday we were all treated to a visit and story-telling performance from the BFG which was magical and entrancing. On Thursday, all the children disappeared only to be replaced by a treasure of wonderful and imaginative characters from all of the Roald Dahl books! I think the staff all disappeared too, as the only adults in school were Mr Willy Wonka himself and his Oompa Loompas!

Well done everyone for such a fantastic effort!

Thankfully, our plague free Y5 children, who were superb on their visit to Eyam, enjoyed finding out more interesting information for their topic: Peasants, Princes and Pestilence.

Finally, several Y6 children have completed two days intensive training to become our new Peer Mediators in school. They have valued the time and support from CRESST (Conflict Resolution Education) staff to help them develop their skills.
