Cross Country Race 1

posted 21 Sep 2016, 00:32 by J Tee

This weekend brought the return of the Sheffield Schools cross country league and an opportunity for Stocksbridge Junior School to build upon last year’s successes. Cross country is one of my favorite events to attend and to see it growing in popularity each year is amazing. Each race had nearly 200 children running from schools all over Sheffield, some running just for pleasure and some really getting into the competitive element of the event.

Race 1 took place at Bole hill recreation ground in Crookes, in some good running conditions. It was a particularly difficult course with some long steep hills to challenge the runners. Stocksbridge team has definitely increased in numbers but I would still like a few more to attend to make up a team of four that is required in each category.
