Cross Country Race 3 @ Bradfield

posted 12 Nov 2017, 10:13 by J Tee

Race 3 of the cross country season took place this weekend at Bradfield Secondary School. It was unusually mild for this time of year but the course as always, was muddy and challenging. It is one of the longest races of the year which requires lots of stamina and muscular endurance. Again, Stocksbridge had a fantastic number of children attending with some more first time runners. Our year 4 girl’s team of Grace (42nd), Rose (26th) and Alice (20th) who all ran extremely well, had a new member this week. Lexie (Y3!) who has demonstrated real talent in athletics lessons during PE finished in an amazing 19th place out of 130 Y4’s. Our regular runners such as Flynn (44th), Emma (77th), Alfie (65th) to name a few, are all making really good improvements in their individual places. However, it has been a real team effort with every member of the Stocksbridge cross country team making valuable contribution to our overall score and engaging in a healthy and active morning of sport. Well done team Stocksbrdge!
