Physical Education Curriculum

posted 16 Dec 2015, 08:31 by J Tee

Mr Tee and Miss Madeley are responsible for teaching structured, well planned and engaging PE lessons, providing children with the opportunity to learn a variety of sports and activities (2 new sports every 6 weeks). Lessons are planned with cross curricular links to literacy and numeracy so children can build upon their academic learning outside the classroom in an active and varied environment.

The PE staff are having a notable impact across school, with significant changes in behaviour of individuals.  Furthermore, PE is giving children the chance to excel and develop their confidence and self-esteem.

Physical activities we have covered so far are gymnastics, football, basketball, athletics, fundamentals (motor skills) e.g. assault courses.  Upcoming physical activities include dance, netball, outdoor and adventurous activities (OAA), rounders, cricket and tag rugby.

As you can see from previous blogs, Stocksbridge Junior School have competed with confidence, energy and sportsmanship. We would like to take this opportunity to thank parents/carers for all of your support this first term and we look forward to seeing you in the new year.
