Tour de Yorkshire's Charity Cycle Ride

posted 27 Apr 2017, 00:48 by J Tee

On Wednesday 26th April two children from our school were selected to represent Stocksbridge Junior School on a charity cycle ride for Sheffield Children’s Hospital. This was also to raise awareness of the upcoming Tour de Yorkshire taking place in Stocksbridge this weekend. The ride was organised by Craig Malkin from Links School Sports Partnership and involved all the schools in the local area. The children rode from Finkle Street, Wortley all the way to Penistone, covering over 10 miles. The traffic cycle path was a perfect track for this event and Luke Cowley and Ruby Hughes came back with their faces covered in mud and smiles. They thoroughly enjoyed their day and with the help of their family and friends, they have raised a substantial amount of money for an amazing cause. Well done to our cycling superstars and thank you to Craig and his team for organising such a great event.
