Y5 Hotshots Basketball City Finals

posted 2 May 2016, 23:47 by J Tee

Last week, Stocksbridge Junior School's Year 5 Basketball team competed against 10 other schools in the Sheffield City Finals at All Saints. All schools attending had progressed through their respective cluster competitions to have the chance of being the cities best.  The Hotshots new rules states that 4 boys play against each other in the first half then 4 girls play against each other in the second. Everyone gave 100% effort in all of their matches together with great teamwork and respect. After a good start and a draw against one of the favourites, St. Catherine's, we went on to win the next 2 fixtures against Marlcliffe and St Wifreds setting ourselves up for a potential final. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to win our last game but we still finished as one of the top Year 5 Basketball teams in the city. A big thank you to all our parents and families that was there to support our team.
