Y6 Rounders Competition

posted 7 Jun 2016, 09:06 by J Tee

On Tuesday 7th June, 10 children from Years 5 and 6 went to the Sheffield City rounders competition at Davy Sports.  When we arrived, there were 20 other teams involved which was an amazing turnout from Sheffield schools.  We were put in the red league with all our opponents being well organised teams.  The good news was that we were amazing in the field, putting all the skills and tactics they have been learning in lessons and after-school rounders club into practice often restricting teams to only a few points. Our batting was outstanding gaining at least 10 points in each game to progress through to the champions league finals as clear winners.

In this champions league, the winning team out of each league then played against each other in a round robin. As the standard from other schools increased our children up their game and became even more focused. In every game we played to a high level beating all the other teams. Every single player in the team contributed to a 100% winning record and to be crown as SHEFFIELD CITY ROUNDERS CHAMPIONS!
