Our Year 4 handball team have been working hard in their lunchtime training to learn the rules and skills required to be a successful handball team. Yesterday at Stocksbridge High School they had the chance to put what they had learnt into practice. There were six teams competing at the event, 2 from St. Annes, 2 from Deepcar and 2 from Stocksbridge Junior School. Each team played 5 games in a round robin style competition led and umpired by the excellent sports leaders from Stocksbridge High School. Our children looked strong and confident and really improved as they progressed through the games. The final results were very favorable for us with Deepcar 1 finishing in 3rd, Stocksbridge Junior B finishing 2nd and Stocksbridge Junior A winning with an unbeaten record. Players of the tournament were Jayden and Ajsha for their amazing efforts and team play.
