Our learning this week!

We have been very busy in Y5 this week!
In Literacy we are writing an informal letter to Pestilence from the viewpoint of a rat!

In History we have been learning about the different types of people from Medieval England. We learnt about the lives of peasants, nobles, merchants and the monarchy, and then placed them onto a social hierarchy. Most of the class created a diagram in their book, but some children made a poster of the social hierarchy-here is an example:

In Maths we have been focussing on addition calculations with whole and decimal numbers. This week we will be learning written and mental subtraction methods.
We have also been working hard at practising our times tables- here is a good website where you can test out your times table skills: http://www.wmnet.org.uk/resources/gordon/Hit%20the%20button%20v9.swf
