There was a strong sense of contemplation in Y6JJ today, as we welcomed in Sue Hague and local artist, Stoneface to view a range of art created by the children of Stocksbridge Junior School.  Children from Y3 to Y6 have created a range of artwork and poetry to go on display at the Church of Saint Nicholas in High Bradfield as part of the Poppy Memorial Trail.  At the end of the visit, the children were able to read aloud their poetry, based on Ian McMillan's "The Bridge", to our visitors.  It was a special moment which painted a vivid picture of life in the trenches for the soldiers of the First World War.

The artwork and poetry will be on display at the Church of Saint Nicholas, High Bradfield as part of the Poppy Memorial Trail.
