Y6 DW Periscopes

posted 22 Oct 2015, 08:54 by D Wright
We rounded off the half term in Y6 DW with a challenge.

The children were set the task of creating, in groups, a periscope which would allow them to see over their table.
We removed our chairs for the session and we had to sit on the floor.

The children worked in groups and crawled to various resource areas to collect the material required for their periscopes. We imagined that the tables symbolized trenches from WW1 and that being seen above them would alert enemy snipers.

All in all the children had a fantastic time and it represented a really enjoyable end to the term.
