Miss Killen’s Mathematics Homework

Given out: 31/10/16   Due in: 03/10/16

LO: To find the lowest common multiple

How to find the lowest common multiple:

List the multiples of each number until you find a multiple that appears in both lists.

If you know your times tables well, it can really help and you may not have to write them all out in a list!

E.g. the lowest common multiple of 2 and 5 is 10.

2        5

4       10

6

8

10

Find the lowest common multiple of each pair of numbers:

1)    9 and 8

2)    4 and 10

3)    3 and 4

4)    15 and 10

5)    7 and 3

Now find the lowest common multiple of each set of numbers:

1)    3, 4 and 2

2)    10, 5 and 3

3)    8, 2 and 7

4)    6, 3 and 9

5)    12, 6 and 4
