Ofsted says SJS is OUTSTANDING!!!

posted 5 Mar 2015, 06:55 by L Ross

I am delighted to inform parents that the school has achieved its fourth ‘Outstanding’ result in succession since 1997. This means that Stocksbridge Junior School has been one of the most successful schools in the country for nearly two decades. I hope that you will share my pride in this wonderful accolade and agree that the report reflects the hard work and dedication of the staff, children, parents and governors at Stocksbridge Junior School consistently over time.

Finally, I would like to thank all parents for your overwhelming support now and over the years.

Yours sincerely,
Mrs Samantha Gaymond

Parents' Sessions

posted 29 Sep 2014, 02:39 by L Ross

Parents/guardians are warmly invited to our ‘Bring your parent to school’ sessions which will take place in the week preceding parents’ evening. Teachers would like you to pop into class with your child at the beginning of the school day. This is an opportunity for parents to take part in a lesson with their child and for children to show their books and work. You will be able to see the progress made so far this year and the children will really enjoy talking to you about their learning and achievements.
The allocated dates and time slots are as follows:

· Year 4 – Tuesday 7th October, 9:30am - 10:00 am
· Year 5 – Wednesday 8th October, 9:30am - 10:00 am
· Year 3 – Thursday 9th October, 9:30am - 10:00 am
· Year 6 – Friday 10th October, 9:30am - 10:00 am

Refreshments will be available for parents in the hall from 8:45am. During this time we hope to be able to provide you with some information about our new curriculum and give you an update about the changes that we have made to the way we assess children in Years 3, 4 and 5.
