In the month of November, we have seen the start of our lunchtime cycling club which is being led by Abbie from British Cycling. As a British Cycling club, we observe best practice in coaching while providing confidence to know that our children are safe, well-managed and for the club to be an exciting place to be. The club is every Monday lunchtime and the selected children have the opportunity to develop their cycling skills and confidence. The first session started on the field and included several non-riders and this week we progressed to a section of the yard in order for them to learn some more advanced skills. It is great to see the children being active at lunchtimes while fine tuning their skills so that they able to access cycle to school week and active travel. The club will also run again during the Spring term when we can hopefully rely on more settled weather conditions. It also allows us to further utilise our small collection of mountain and BMX bikes that British Cycling have allowed us to use. If you feel your child would benefit from the club, please send us an email and we will put their names down for the next Cycling Club in the Spring term.
