We are really fortunate in Stocksbridge to have some amazing sports facilities and tennis is another local example of that, providing the community with the opportunity to be physically active and develop their tennis skills. To develop our local club links, we took part in the tennis competition run by our School Sports Partnership. Miss Rodas to 9 Year 6 children in a very competitive event playing against some local schools. They played in a Round Robin style singles competition with the winner being the first child to 10 points.
Griffin, Frankie, Liya, Devon, James, Mason, Elijah, Emily and Willow all performed brilliantly for our school. Not only did the children try their very best but also demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship by supporting one another and the opposition! We had a fantastic time, and us as staff are so proud of all the children – they represented Stocksbridge Junior School brilliantly.’ Team B from Stocksbridge were the eventual winners but every child taking part played their part and gave it their all.
Well done Team Stocky!
